Today on the show, we are joined by Professor William von Hippel. Professor Von Hippel is a professor of psychology at the University of Queensland, who has keen research interests into evolutionary and social psychology.
This passion for understanding social dynamics lead to Bill writing ‘The Social Leap’ a groundbreaking hypothesis of human development that dates back to how our ancestors made it out from the Savannah. Escaping the African desert millions of years ago forever altered the way the human mind works and today we discuss some of the topics.
In this mind-blowing episode we discuss the new evolutionary science of who we are, where we come from and what makes us happy. We look at things such as why we are wired to collaborate and help others, why tribalism is at the heart of our species, the journey of evolution and other things like why it’s so painful to not get many Instagram likes, why rejection hurts so bad, why it’s so hard to be present in the moment. why it’s important for men to take risks as well as what women look for in a partner.
Before we jump right in, don’t forget guys we have got a ‘healthy, wealthy and wise newsletter which you will’ there’s a link below on the episode, and should you get value out of our work then a 5* iTunes rating would reallllly make us happy.
I hope you enjoy this episode with one of my favourite guests that we’ve had on the show. Professor William von Hippel.
